Temples & Red Sea Horizons

A ten-day balance of archaeological depth and Red Sea ease, beginning with Cairo and Giza before a focused stay in Luxor. Each ancient landscape receives its own space: the pyramids, the east-bank temples and the royal tombs are explored across separate days. A planned road transfer then crosses from the Nile Valley to El Gouna, where the rhythm shifts to the shore. A responsible marine excursion is considered alongside walks, relaxed meals and genuinely free time. The programme finishes at Hurghada airport, with domestic travel, hotels and sea activities confirmed in the final proposal according to availability and the group’s preferences.

10 Day

Settle into Cairo

Morning: Arrive in Cairo and transfer to your hotel, using the first hours for a meal, a shower and rest after the flight rather than rushing directly to a monument.

Afternoon: If timing permits, take a short guided introduction to the Nile or the local neighbourhood and review the domestic flight and later Red Sea transfer arrangements.

Evening: Dine in Cairo and discuss food preferences with the team, leaving the evening relaxed before tomorrow’s early start at Giza.

Travel notes: Sleep in Cairo. The arrival programme adapts to your actual flight, and any delayed check-in is handled through arrangements confirmed with the hotel.

Morning: Reach the Giza plateau early for a guided visit, following the relationship between the pyramids, the surrounding landscape and the Sphinx rather than moving quickly between photo stops.

Afternoon: After lunch, return to the hotel for a break or choose a confirmed museum visit focused on the objects and ideas behind the monumental architecture.

Evening: Enjoy dinner near your hotel and prepare for the next day’s flight, keeping luggage and transfer details organised for a smooth move to Luxor.

Travel notes: Sleep in Cairo. Museum choices and optional pyramid interiors are confirmed separately; the outdoor visit is shortened or rescheduled around heat when necessary.

Morning: Transfer to Cairo airport for the confirmed domestic flight to Luxor. Meet your local guide on arrival and check into the riverside hotel when rooms are available.

Afternoon: Have lunch and rest before a measured introduction to Luxor Temple, allowing its position within the modern city to become part of the discussion.

Evening: Dine by the river and enjoy a quiet evening, with the major Karnak and west-bank visits reserved for full mornings.

Travel notes: Sleep in Luxor. Flight schedules determine the temple visit; if arrival is late, the guide moves the introduction into another day’s available time.

Karnak, from avenue to sanctuary

Morning: Explore Karnak with your Egyptologist, taking time to understand its sequence of gates, courts and columns and the many rulers who added to the complex.

Afternoon: After lunch, choose a smaller accessible collection or return to the hotel. A river crossing or brief waterfront walk can provide a gentler counterpoint to the morning.

Evening: Enjoy a dinner of Egyptian dishes and leave the evening free, with an early start planned for the royal tombs across the Nile.

Travel notes: Sleep in Luxor. Individual precincts and museum openings vary; the day’s value lies in interpretation and time on site, without any promise of restricted access.

Tombs, terraces and village edges

Morning: Cross the Nile early to visit a selection of open tombs in the Valley of the Kings, learning about their decoration before entering the chambers in the permitted sequence.

Afternoon: Continue to Hatshepsut’s temple and pause for lunch near the west-bank agricultural edge, with the afternoon kept flexible for rest or a short additional visit.

Evening: Return to the hotel and enjoy dinner on the east bank, reviewing tomorrow’s transfer and the very different pace awaiting on the Red Sea.

Travel notes: Sleep in Luxor. Special tomb tickets and extra visits are included only if agreed; a full rest interval is preserved before the road crossing.

Across the desert to El Gouna

Morning: Leave Luxor with your driver for the approved road journey to the Red Sea, with scheduled breaks and no expectation of sightseeing at remote roadside locations.

Afternoon: Arrive in El Gouna, have lunch and settle into your hotel. Take time to understand the property’s beach or lagoon access and the options for the coming days.

Evening: Walk around the marina or downtown area before dinner, letting the evening mark the shift from archaeological days to a slower coastal stay.

Travel notes: Sleep in El Gouna. The overland transfer takes a substantial part of the day, and the operator confirms route, checkpoints and meal stops in advance.

An introduction to the Red Sea

Morning: Meet the chosen marine operator for the safety briefing and a supervised excursion matched to your swimming experience, with the actual site selected for the day’s conditions.

Afternoon: Have the arranged boat or shore lunch and continue only while conditions remain suitable. Observe coral and marine life without touching, feeding or pursuing them.

Evening: Return to the hotel for a shower and an easy dinner, leaving the evening free after a day of sun and salt water.

Travel notes: Sleep in El Gouna. Boats, visibility and reef access depend on the operator and weather; no wildlife sighting or specific offshore site is guaranteed.

A day with no fixed excursion

Morning: Enjoy breakfast at your own pace and spend the morning at the hotel’s agreed beach or pool, choosing shade and time to read between short swims if conditions suit.

Afternoon: Have lunch where you are staying or explore a nearby restaurant. The afternoon is free for a pre-booked treatment, a stroll or simply more time beside the water.

Evening: Choose dinner in downtown El Gouna or at the marina, with practical transport advice from the local team and no organised entertainment required.

Travel notes: Sleep in El Gouna. Activities outside the confirmed programme are optional and priced separately; the coordinator remains available for practical arrangements.

Lagoon walks and coastal living

Morning: Take a gentle walk through part of El Gouna, comparing the marina, lagoon edges and residential scale with the Nile cities explored earlier in the journey.

Afternoon: Pause for lunch and return to the hotel for a free afternoon. A second water activity can be arranged if requested, subject to conditions and a separate confirmation.

Evening: Enjoy a final coastal dinner and prepare for the onward journey, with tomorrow’s airport transfer time checked against the actual flight.

Travel notes: Sleep in El Gouna. Transport around town and any extra activity follow the confirmed quotation; the day can remain entirely at leisure if that is your preference.

Departure from Hurghada

Morning: Have breakfast and enjoy a last look over the coast, with a short hotel walk or time to pack depending on the departure hour.

Afternoon: Transfer to Hurghada airport with the local driver, leaving the margin required for traffic, terminal procedures and the confirmed onward flight.

Evening: Continue your journey from Hurghada, with a morning departure replacing the relaxed start with an earlier transfer and breakfast arranged accordingly.

Travel notes: The programme ends at Hurghada airport. International connections or a Cairo flight are booked only as specified in the final travel proposal.
